A suspect connected to a freeway shooting on Northbound Interstate 280 near the Saratoga Avenue off-ramp in May has been arrested. The arrest occurred in San Jose after a thorough investigation using advanced surveillance technology. With assistance from local police, CHP served search and arrest warrants, leading to the recovery of a firearm, according to the California Highway Patrol's Golden Gate Division.

On May 15, CHP officers responded to the shooting report and found a bullet hole in the victim's car but no injuries. Using Flock Safety's camera network, which helps identify vehicles involved in crimes, the investigation identified Manuel Cadenas, a 41-year-old San Jose resident, as the suspect.

CHP's Golden Gate Division Special Investigations Unit further investigated and established probable cause to arrest Cadenas, who has a criminal history. He now faces charges of attempted murder and weapons-related offenses. Last Thursday, CHP and San Jose Police Department detectives arrested Cadenas, who was booked into Santa Clara County Jail without bail.
