According to a report from Action News 5, the Memphis Police Department received a call about the incident at 6:24 a.m. and arrived at the scene on 3645 Macon Road to find the bus embedded in the structure.
The nature of how the bus driver lost control remains uncertain, however, police informed Action News 5 that an investigation is underway. The injured parties were quickly transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, with the urgency that accompanies early morning traffic chaos and the fright of those in proximity.
Further coverage by FOX13 confirmed the location of the crash at Macon Road and Homer Street, identifying it as occurring within the Grahamwood neighborhood.
