A man has been taken into custody by Seattle Police in connection with a stabbing incident that took place in the Bitter Lake area, with the weapon involved also being recovered. The altercation, which escalated on July 31, resulted in one individual sustaining injuries from a thrown knife. According to the Seattle Police Department Blotter, the emergency services were quickly engaged, responding to the situation at approximately 5:02 p.m. near Aurora Avenue North and North 143rd Street.
Upon arrival, officers found a 29-year-old male victim with a laceration to his right arm. The Seattle Fire Department was able to swiftly provide medical aid, before transporting the wounded man to Northwest Hospital where he was reported to be in stable condition. It was determined by the police that an argument had quickly turned violent between the men, leading to the suspect throwing the knife to seriously injure the victim.
The knife was located at the scene and was seized as evidence. The suspect, a 28-year-old man, was initially arrested for Investigation of Assault and faced the prospect of confinement at King County Jail. However, complications arose when jail staff declined to book him due to a complaint of narcotics ingestion. This necessitated his transport to Harborview Medical Center for evaluation, delaying the booking process.
Nevertheless, police were eventually able to return the suspect to King County Jail, where he was booked on charges. The City Attorney's Office has since been referred to the charges of Assault in the 4th Degree and Unlawful Use of Weapons. Further investigation into the stabbing has been chased by detectives from the Homicide & Assault Unit, as mentioned in the statement obtained by the Seattle Police Department Blotter.
