A collision in Seminole County has left one person hospitalized with serious injuries after their vehicle rammed into a building on Monday morning. According to a report by ClickOrlando, the incident occurred at the AAMCO transmission repair shop located at 8250 S. US 17-92, causing substantial structural damage.

The Seminole County Fire Department responded to the scene, where the driver of a Nissan Armada was extricated from the wreck and subsequently transported to ORMC as a trauma alert, the department said. Florida Highway Patrol reported, that two vehicles, the Nissan Armada and a Hyundai Santa Fe, were traveling southbound along U.S. 17-92 when the Nissan hit the Hyundai from behind, propelling it off-road into the AAMCO building. A second individual declined hospital transport, and was not injured, officials reported.

The crash caused "significant damage" according to the fire department, as cited by FOX 35 Orlando. The area around the collision was closed to traffic as crews worked to secure the scene, and clean-up operations commenced. No other injuries have been reported at this time.

Troopers are currently investigating the cause of the accident, which has yet to be determined.
