Emerging on the scene close to 11:30 p.m. at the 2900 block of N. Lamar Blvd., Austin Fire Department (AFD) crews attended to reports of a person trapped inside a vehicle. It was then confirmed that the sedan had crashed into the band's bus, prompting the AFD to remove the car's door to safely extricate the trapped individual. According to KVUE, the sedan's adult driver was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center with potentially serious injuries.
On-site evaluations by the Austin Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS) determined that five students and one driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Principal Andy Baxa assured families that despite the on-site treatment of the injured, "No students or staff required transport by EMS," as he stated in his letter covered by CBS Austin. Following the incident, drivers were advised to temporarily avoid the area.
