McCune was found deceased with multiple gunshot wounds at an apartment complex located at 43rd Avenue and Indian School Road, as originally reported by ABC15.

On October 2, 2023, an unknown assailant cut McCune's life tragically short. The vehicle of interest, whose make and model remain unidentified, could potentially guide authorities to the perpetrator. A reward of up to $2,000 is on offer for information that aids in the apprehension and conviction of those involved, according to a report by 12 News.
