
A tragic hit-and-run incident in Skokie has led to the death of 37-year-old bicyclist Carlos Medina; the Skokie Police Department is actively seeking information regarding the unknown motorist involved in the fatal encounter. According to WGN-TV, the collision occurred late Tuesday around 10:30 p.m. in the 3500 block of Oakton Street, adjacent to the Skokie Sports Park, where Medina was struck by an eastbound vehicle and, subsequently, hit by another while lying on the ground.
Despite the efforts of emergency services and hospital staff, Medina's injuries proved to be insurmountable, and he was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital; while one driver involved stayed at the site to await the arrival of authorities, the second driver, operating a dark-colored vehicle, as confirmed by Chicago Sun-Times.
