Officers from the South San Francisco Police Department made several arrests this past week due to a sophisticated fraud scheme involving multiple hotel rooms in the area. According to the South San Francisco Police Department, at about 11:04 am last Friday, an investigation into a fraudulently rented hotel room led to further discoveries of criminal activities spanning at least two local hotels.
The initial call quickly expanded as the police connected the fraudulent activity to a second hotel room. During their search, the officers found several pieces of evidence pointing toward a larger operation, such as printers, laptops, numerous credit cards, and mail.
Several victims have already been identified, as per the social media update, and detectives are working diligently to uncover further individuals who may have fallen prey to this criminal web.
