An update to the homicide investigation that has gripped Mead Valley neighborhood was released, indicating that authorities have identified a suspect in the case. Juan Cristoval Ambriz, 26, already in custody on unrelated charges, has been formally accused of murder and other serious offenses relating to the incident on August 12.
According to a statement from the Riverside Sheriff’s Office, Ambriz, a Perris resident, is facing charges including murder, aggravated kidnapping, felon in possession of a firearm, and various enhancements. The case remains, an active pursuit of justice, and investigators are holding back additional details from the public at this time. Local law enforcement is reaching out to the community, urging individuals with any relevant information to come forward and assist.
The circumstances surrounding the incident began to unfold in the early hours of August 12 when a vehicle theft was reported on Summerwind Trail. A Hispanic male connected to the theft was subsequently found shot at the nearby intersection of Cajalco Road and Haines Street. Passersby endeavored to save the man's life before deputies arrived but to no avail.
The victim was later identified as 29-year-old Jose Eduardo Del Real, a Perris local. Despite the recent charge against Ambriz, the Riverside County Sheriff's Office continues its diligent investigation, "This is an active and ongoing investigation, and no additional details are currently available.
