A burglary suspect was promptly arrested last Wednesday following a call about a suspected home invasion in Van Nuys. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to an alert around 1:30 p.m. in the 14700 block of Ostego St, where 43-year-old Joshua Batt was detained by officers.

The officers' investigation revealed that Batt managed to forcefully enter the home through a side door and ransack the property. He was caught in possession of stolen items from the residence. It turns out that the suspect was an inter-state parolee who was being monitored with a GPS tracker. Following the arrest, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Division of Adult Parole, was notified and quickly placed a parole hold on Batt.

Van Nuys Area burglary detectives arrived at the scene to oversee the investigation and interviewed the suspect. Batt, who has since been identified as the culprit, was booked on charges of 459 PC, Burglary. His incarceration details, including any pending court dates or bail information, have yet to be released by the authorities.
