Three suspects are now in custody following a high-speed chase that ended in a violent collision on the streets of Koreatown. The pursuit began after a black BMW sedan, matching the description of a vehicle involved in a robbery, was spotted by sheriff's deputies around 2 p.m. in Marina del Rey, as reported by ABC7. The Los Angeles Police Department intervened, managing the chase as it spilled onto Koreatown streets and resulted in a crash at the intersection near 5th Street and Wilton Place.
The chaos unfolded when the BMW collided with a white car, causing severe damage to both vehicles and additional destruction as an apartment building was struck, according to KTLA. The impact sent the white car, later identified as a Mazda hatchback driven by a female, onto the sidewalk. She was later transported to a hospital for treatment. The BMW not only hit the parked car but also ended up on the sidewalk, ramming into a structure.
CBS Los Angeles recounted witness accounts of the immediate aftermath, quoting resident Mila Molinari, who described the moment of the crash as the car "spin around and crash straight into the wall of my living room." She added, "I felt the whole building shaking." The intensity of the event was further captured by local Lauren Snyder, who compared the sounds she heard to "a war zone."
Law enforcement quickly apprehended the suspects, with one attempting to flee on foot but promptly being captured. A rifle was confiscated from the BMW, however, it was later determined to be a replica, as per ABC7.
