Earlier this morning, the quiet of Citrus Heights was disrupted by a brazen burglary attempt at a local smoke shop, officials say. According to KCRA, a vehicle, which had been recorded stolen, smashed through the front gate of Baba Smoke N' Vape on Greenback Lane around 5:40 a.m., creating chaos where tranquility once laid.
Responding to an alarm that had sounded only moments earlier, the Citrus Heights Police Department arrived at the scene to find a car had not only broken through the front gate but was also lodged inside the business itself. As reported by officers, there were fortunately no injuries stemming from the incident, and at the moment, no arrests have been made in connection to the event.
Further details emerged from CBS Sacramento, which noted that two suspects had been seen removing items from the store after the crash and subsequently fleeing on foot. Police continue their investigation, scouring through surveillance footage from Baba Smoke & Vape Shop and nearby businesses in the complex in hopes of identifying the culprits behind the theft.
