
A collision in Solana Beach is currently being investigated after a dirt bike and an SUV were involved in an accident yesterday afternoon. According to a report by the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, the incident occurred just past 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Lomas Santa Fe Drive and the southbound entrance to Interstate 5.
The North Coastal Sheriff's Station deputies were quick to respond to unexpectedly come across such a situation. A preliminary investigation into the event revealed that a 17-year-old boy was riding an off-road motorcycle when he collided with a Volvo SUV. The vehicle in question was reportedly driven by a woman whose details were not disclosed.
As a consequence of the crash, the teenage rider was transported to a local hospital with injuries described as life-threatening. Details surrounding the circumstances of the collision, including who was at fault, are still emerging as the investigation continues.
