A 16-year-old boy was shot and wounded in South Chicago on Sunday night during a confrontation with a group of individuals, one of whom was reportedly armed. The Chicago police have stated that the incident took place around 8:43 p.m. in the 2900 block of East 83rd Street, as reported by the Chicago Sun-Times. During the altercation, the armed individual is said to have fired shots, hitting the teenager in the right arm and grazing his abdomen.

The situation deteriorated when one of the individuals drew a handgun and proceeded to, seemingly indiscriminately, shoot at the boy. Following the incident, emergency responders rushed to the crime scene, and the victim was then taken to Comer Children's Hospital where he was listed in good condition, as per information from FOX 32 Chicago.

There have been no arrests made in connection to the shooting as of the last reports. Investigators from the Area Two detective unit are currently seeking further information and working to identify any potential suspects involved in the incident. as per  FOX 32 Chicago.
