Rosa Inchausti, Tempe City Manager, stands among the finalists for the 2024 ATHENA Award, a mark of distinction celebrating women who have scaled the heights of their professions. As spotlighted by the Tempe newsletter, the Greater Phoenix Chamber's ATHENA Awards recognize those who exert inspirational leadership, and mentorship, and serve their communities with an unwavering commitment.
Now in its 37th year, this notable acknowledgment is set to announce winners at the forthcoming ceremony on October 24. The ATHENA accolade is not merely about personal triumph; it extends to the impact these women make within their workplaces, local communities, and the broader state of Arizona, "These women make immeasurable contributions within their companies, their communities, and they are a driving force in making Arizona a top state in the nation," Todd Sanders, President & CEO of the Greater Phoenix Chamber, remarked on the importance of these leaders.
Inchausti is a trailblazer with a 31-year legacy in public service for the city of Tempe, notching several 'firsts' in her career. She became the municipality's first bilingual marriage and family therapist, its initial Diversity Director, and later, authored the city's diversity guidelines which led to the implementation of Arizona's pioneering Anti-Discrimination Ordinance, "Rosa has long been a force – for professionalism, for elevating others, and for good in all its manifestations," expressed Tempe Mayor Corey Woods in his praise for Inchausti's tenure.
The list of finalists in the public sector includes other notable names alongside Inchausti: Shannon Clancy of St. Vincent de Paul, Angela Hughey from the ONE Community Foundation, and Christina Spicer of the Girl Scouts – Arizona Cactus-Pine Council, each contributing to their domains with vigor and a servant's heart. Not to be overshadowed, the private sector highlights include leaders such as Pam Giannonatti from Kroger/Fry’s Food Stores and Jenny Holsman Tetreault of TPI Composites, among others that are transforming the landscape of corporate Arizona with their unique talents and strategic vision.
The ATHENA Awards also shine a light on emerging talent: the Young Professional category showcases individuals like Kate Conway of Verra Mobility, and Kayla Gray, co-founder at Commonspirit.
