In a somber turn of events, the Grainger County Sheriff's Office has announced an ongoing investigation into a drowning that claimed the life of 25-year-old Bryson Harrell. The incident, reported by WVLT News, occurred near the Olen Marshal Bridge lake access area.
At around 8:50 p.m. Tuesday, several law enforcement and rescue agencies convened in a concerted effort to respond to the emergency even as Sheriff James Harville detailed to WIVK the outpouring of assistance from the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Tennessee Highway Patrol, and local police and volunteer departments, their collective purpose marred by the tragedy that unfolded that evening.
This investigation, headed by the Grainger County Sheriff’s Office, brings together a spectrum of law enforcement officials and first responders, all of who faced the day with preparations for the preservation of life only to confront the still reality of its loss invoking questions that they, and the community of Grainger County, now must grapple with.
