
A tragic incident unfolded in the Hickory Hill area last night, where three women lost their lives and seven individuals, including a child, sustained injuries following a multi-car pile-up induced by a teenage driver fleeing from police. Initiated by a traffic stop gone awry, the sequence of events led to a destructive end on Kirby Parkway and East Raines Road, as per reports from Action News 5.
Memphis Police disclosed that the chase began near Getwell Road and Cottonwood Road around 9:45 p.m. when the juvenile driver in question refused to submit to the stop, this set off a pursuit that resulted in the driver crashing into four other vehicles after running a red light—causing the aforementioned casualties and injuries, this account of the event was echoed by WREG News Channel 3.
The Memphis Police Department further confirmed the tally of the wounded being seven, which included three women, two men, and a child, while noting the child involved in the incident was among the injured party, sustaining non-critical injuries, as per FOX13 Memphis.
