The Tillamook County Sheriff's Office is actively engaging the community to aid in locating a suspect involved in a grave hit-and-run incident that took place in Pacific City, causing serious injury to a 42-year-old man. According to KOIN, the collision occurred near the intersection of Cape Kiwanda Drive and Nestucca Ridge Road on Monday.
Deputy Jordan Reyes of the TCSO is calling on individuals who might have surveillance footage between Pacific Avenue and Doryland Pizza on Cape Kiwanda Drive to step forward with any relevant video evidence. The crucial timeframe delineated for the incident is from 2 a.m. to 2:40 a.m. on the date of the accident, as stated in a report by Tillamook Headlight Herald.
Despite the scarcity of witnesses in the early hours when the hit-and-run took place, Deputy Reyes conveyed the gravity of the injuries sustained by the victim. "The man was severely injured and was Life-flighted to OHSU and medical personnel at the hospital advised me that his injuries were constant with being struck and dragged by a vehicle," Deputy Reyes told Tillamook Headlight Herald.
While the Sheriff's office continues their diligent search for information, they have expanded their request beyond just vehicle footage, also seeking any relevant video captures of individuals on foot that may be involved. “We are looking for footage of vehicles driving in the area and of the victim walking,” said Deputy Reyes, as he was quoted by KPTV.
The Tillamook County Sheriff's Office remains steadfast in its pursuit, extending a call to action for anyone who may possess information regarding the hit-and-run. Responses may be directed to the TCSO.
