In the early hours of Saturday on Chicago's South DuSable Lake Shore Drive, a fatal incident claimed the life of a pedestrian, according to local authorities.
The Chicago Police reported that around 4:11 a.m., a man driving a silver SUV was traveling north in the 1300 block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive when he collided with the male pedestrian who was in the street; the driver subsequently remained on the scene, as detailed by the Chicago Tribune.
Emergency responders from the Chicago Fire Department treated the victim at the scene but, despite their efforts, the individual suffered lethal body trauma and was pronounced dead there is no information available yet regarding the identity of the pedestrian. The Major Accidents Investigation Unit has taken over the investigation, as per CBS News.
