Violence erupted on an Atlanta street over the weekend, resulting in two men being shot and subsequently hospitalized. According to a statement from the Atlanta Police Department, the shooting occurred on Saturday, around 10:16 pm, at 378 Edgewood Ave NE.
The police report detailed that upon arrival, officers were informed that the two male victims had gone to Grady Hospital on their own. Both men were in stable condition despite their gunshot wounds. At the hospital, officers conducted interviews to piece together the events leading up to the shooting. According to their preliminary findings, "one of the victims was involved in a physical altercation with a male suspect." During this confrontation, the suspect drew a weapon and shot the first victim multiple times.
It was during this violent exchange that the second man, an unintended victim caught in the fray, suffered a gunshot wound to his buttocks. Investigators are currently trying to elucidate the full narrative of the events that unfolded that evening.
