Port St. Lucie became the scene of a violent episode outside VYBZ Lounge, where two men were shot in what police are calling a targeted attack. According to CBS12, the incident unfolded shortly after the two men, aged 45 and 25, left the nightclub and entered their vehicle on NW Courtyard Circle. It was at this moment that an assailant in a dark-colored sedan opened fire, wounding both the front and rear seat passengers.
Despite the chaos, the driver managed to quickly transport the victims to Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital to receive prompt medical care. The Port St. Lucie Police Department responded to the hospital around 2:10 a.m., as reported by WPBF. The two men sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were thankfully able to be discharged later on.
The perpetrator fled the scene posthaste, and authorities are actively searching for the suspect responsible for this shooting. In the interim, law enforcement emphasizes that this appears to be an isolated incident with no broader threat to public safety. However, the motive and the identity of the shooter remain under investigation as detectives work to piece together the specifics of the crime.
Police are urging anyone who might have seen something or who possesses any information that could lead to an arrest to step forward. Detective Meyer of the Major Crimes Unit is the point of contact and can be reached at 772-807-4400, a call to action echoed in the statements obtained by both CBS12 and WPBF.
