
Early yesterday morning in Redwood City, a vehicle-pedestrian collision occurred that left an adult female and a juvenile female with moderate injuries. The incident took place at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Duane Street, according to the Redwood City Police Department. At 8:01 a.m., a vehicle heading southbound on Duane turned east onto Harrison and struck the pedestrians in a crosswalk. The driver stopped and cooperated with authorities.
The collision happened near North Star and MIT schools, highlighting the need to be extra vigilant around school zones, especially during the hectic drop-off and pick-up times. Redwood City Police Department informed that both victims were swiftly transported to a local hospital for treatment. The department has announced plans to conduct increased enforcement around North Star MIT and all local schools in the following weeks to ensure student safety.
While the pedestrians sustained what are believed to be moderate injuries, the exact condition of the victims has not been disclosed.
