Two 17-year-old suspects have been taken into custody following a violent incident in Dorchester that left multiple people wounded by gunfire. The arrest, made in Norwood yesterday, involved a juvenile wanted on numerous charges, including carrying a firearm without a license and assault and battery with a firearm, as reported by the Boston Police Department's official feed. A search of the suspect's apartment yielded a hybrid firearm, which may lead to additional charges.
The initial arrest was followed by another capture, taking place on Saturday, August 24, when officers apprehended a second teen also facing similar firearms charges. During a diligent investigation, detectives linked him to the previous shooting occurring on July 10, 2024, where five individuals sustained injuries after being shot on Greenwood Street. According to police statements, all victims from the July incident are recovering from non-life threatening wounds.
In a detailed follow-up, the Boston Police Department indicated that when searching the 4 Olde Derby Road location, detectives found a Glock 43X upper paired with a Polymer 80 lower, along with two fully loaded magazines. Lacking a license for ammunition, these findings are expected to compound the legal troubles faced by the 17-year-old suspect taken into custody yesterday.
