Vancouver Police Seek Suspect with Distinct Tattoos in Attempted Child Abduction Case

Vancouver authorities are on the hunt for a suspect involved in the attempted abduction of a child at Lieser Crest Park. KGW's coverage states that the incident occurred around 3:40 p.m. on Sunday when a man tried to take an 11-year-old child. Fortunately, a bystander intervened prompting the suspect to release the child and flee the scene in a vehicle, potentially a newer, dark Jeep SUV, heading north on Fredericksburg Way.

The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) has provided a description of an average-built white male in his 20s or 30s as the suspect, said to be 5'8" tall, around 140 lbs., possibly with a short beard along with distinctive face, hand, and possibly stomach tattoos. According to KATU, the suspect was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black basketball shorts with red accents, and dark shoes, an alert for locals to keep an eye out for anyone matching this description.

KOIN emphasized that the suspect was not known to the child. Law enforcement officials have been diligently working on the case, with the VPD calling upon the public to come forward with any pertinent information that may assist in capturing the suspect.
