
A woman was hospitalized Monday night after she was shot in a drive-by shooting in North Hollywood's busy Arts District. The shooting took place around 8:00 p.m. near The Fat Dog restaurant located at 11050 Magnolia Blvd., a street lined with various businesses including a marijuana dispensary, a tattoo shop, and a theater.
Responding officers found the woman with a gunshot wound to the leg; she was conscious and breathing before being taken to the hospital, where she is reportedly in stable condition, as per a statement obtained from ABC7. Eyewitness reports suggest that at least two men were seen running from the crime scene, and a white BMW was also observed fleeing towards Vineland Avenue, which has not yet been confirmed as involved in the drive-by incident, the precise details of the vehicle and its occupants are still under investigation.
Authorities have yet to determine a clear motive for the shooting and the circumstances leading up to the incident are still under thorough investigation. Multiple evidence markers were seen covering the sidewalk near the location, indicating the possibility of multiple bullet casings based on initial observations at the scene, as reported by CBS Los Angeles.
The LAPD has not released any descriptions of the suspects at large although they continue to seek the public's assistance, the section of Magnolia Boulevard where the shooting occurred was closed as the police conducted their investigation which caused some disruption to the normal flow of business in the usually vibrant district.
