Today, shots rang out near Cavallo Road and Sunset Drive. The Antioch Police Department confirmed an 18-year-old man was shot and subsequently hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. The incident, which occurred at around 12:27 P.M., spurred a swift reaction from local law enforcement, arriving on the scene to find the young adult wounded and in dire need of assistance.
The response from the officers was to immediately provide first aid, a stopgap intervention until paramedics could take over and rush the victim to the hospital. According to a press release by the Antioch Police Department, the investigation remains active, with evidence and witness statements currently being collected.
