A serious traffic incident involving a motorcycle and an SUV occurred on September 26, just south of Las Vegas's bustling West Warm Springs Road, resulting in critical injuries for a 19-year-old male. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash took place at the intersection of South Durango Drive and a private drive west of the roadway, as a green Kawasaki motorcycle collided with a 2015 Infiniti QX70.
The motorcyclist, whose identity is pending notification of next of kin, was reportedly speeding southbound on South Durango Drive when the Infiniti, driven by 47-year-old man, initiated a left turn into a private drive, the two vehicles colliding subsequently. The force of the impact was sufficient to eject the rider from his Kawasaki, and rotate the Infiniti, bringing it to a stop in the middle of the road. Responding emergency personnel quickly transported the injured young man to University Medical Center's Trauma Center for critical care, as reported by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
While the driver of the Infiniti and his passenger, 56-year-old woman, did not sustain serious injuries, she did claim some level of harm. The driver has been cooperative with the authorities, and impairment was ruled out at the scene. The Collision Investigation Section of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department continues to probe the details surrounding the cause and could provide further insights into this traumatic collision.
