
Last night in Lemon Grove, a 21-year-old Hispanic male was fatally shot following an argument heard by deputies in the area. The San Diego Sheriff's Department reported that at around 11:34 p.m., deputies were on patrol in the 3000 block of Lemon Grove Avenue when they heard gunshots. Subsequently, they were informed of a dispute in the 3100 block of School Lane.
The deputies discovered the young man with multiple gunshot wounds and immediately began to provide medical assistance. The Heartland Fire Department soon took over their efforts and transported the victim to a local hospital. Despite the rapid response, the victim succumbed to his injuries. The identity of the deceased has yet to be officially released, pending identification by the Medical Examiner's Office, according to a statement from the Sheriff's Department.
Sheriff's homicide detectives are currently working to piece together the events that led to the young man's death. As the investigation unfolds, they are calling on the public to step forward with any information related to the shooting. No suspect information has been confirmed at this stage.
