
The Acworth City Council, in a regular meeting held on Thursday evening, acknowledged the ten years of steadfast service of Edwin Lacher to the city, particularly in his role within the realm of parks, recreation, and community resources. According to the City of Acworth's official announcement, the recognition was led by Kim Watt and Neely Motiejunas, both key figures in the department directing community engagement and activities in Acworth.
Lacher, who began as a business manager and assistant recreation coordinator, was promoted to recreation coordinator—athletics in 2021. He oversees various programs, including youth and adult basketball leagues, seasonal sports camps, and the Acworth Turkey Chase, a community event that highlights fitness and camaraderie. The council meeting was an opportunity to recognize and appreciate Lacher's contributions to the vibrant community he serves.
