A shooting in Antioch has left one person dead that occurred on Cavallo Road and Sunset Drive last Friday, according to local authorities. Police are now searching for a suspect vehicle connected to the case, as disclosed in a recent statement by the Antioch Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the scene at 12:27 p.m. following reports of gunfire, arriving to discover a victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound, the Antioch Police Department said in a statement. The victim received immediate assistance from police and was transported to a local hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.
The case has since been taken up by the Antioch Police Department's Investigations Bureau, including Crime Scene Investigators and the Violent Crimes Unit, with a blue 1999-2002 GMC Sierra pickup truck featuring a tool rack and black rims, identified as the vehicle of interest. This truck has become a central focus of the investigation as officials pursue leads to apprehend those responsible and perhaps provide some semblance of justice for the deceased.
