Violinist and performance artist Lindsey Stirling, known for her energetic fusion of classical and electronic music, will grace the stage of Phoenix's Footprint Center as part of her "Duality" tour, the Arizona native's return marking a significant event in her career. According to Phoenix New Times, Stirling is set to promote her seventh and most recent album release, embarking on an international tour with 44-city stops.
Despite early struggles learning the violin, starting her lessons at age 5, Stirling distinctly remembers the discomfort of trying to contort her wrist into position, noting in an interview with Phoenix New Times, “my wrist doesn’t bend that way.” She eventually found her stride, intertwining her love for '80s-inspired electronica with her classical training, a journey that now incorporates theatrical performances with intricate costumes and dance. Her aim is to craft immersive experiences for her fans, a creation of ethereal narratives that elevate her musical storytelling.
With a diverse career that includes accolades such as Billboard Music Awards and bestselling books, Stirling continues to form a unique bond with her followers, reinforcing this connection with a touch of her faith and spirituality as she performs. “Faith in self helps us trust God because we trust that we have done all we can do, and we can let go of trying to control everything,” she told Phoenix New Times. This ethos carries her across the stages, a performance style defined by energy and authenticity rather than succumbing to the observer effect, which she views as a "dangerous place to be."
The "Duality" tour kicks off in San Diego and concludes in Highland, California, with Stirling set to perform in Phoenix on September 9; the hometown show represents a nexus for Stirling's local fanbase eager to partake in her musical voyage. Tickets were available through an artist pre-sale with a general public sale following, as confirmed by KTAR. LA-based indie band Saint Motel is scheduled to join her, adding another layer to what promises to be a multifaceted event, Stirling remains steadfast in her passion for performance and creation, with no plans to retire, expressing a desire to continue creating art in various capacities in the future.
