As the Arizona State Fair edges closer to its grand opening today at 4 p.m., anticipation is building for the annual extravaganza of food, rides, and games. Businesses and crews are diligently preparing to welcome a surge of guests eager to partake in the classic fair experience. According to a report by FOX 10 Phoenix, Chris Lopez, vice president of Ray Cammack Shows, provided an exclusive glimpse into the final preparations, highlighting the readying of popular Midway Games.
Midway Games, a fixture at the fair, promises to entice fair-goers with timeless attractions. "We've got everything from the classics: the break a bottle, to the ring a bottle, to the bottle up. We have all the old nostalgic games," Lopez stated in an interview with FOX 10 Phoenix. The excitement for these games is heightened by the vast array of plush prizes ready to be won. Lopez remarked, "Just figure and imagine a huge build-a-bear. That’s what we have."
Indeed, the warehouse is bursting with soft toy prizes that are a key draw for participants. In a remark that puts the scale of the inventory into perspective, Lopez told Enjoy Motel, "When we open tomorrow at 4pm, we will have given out over 60,000 soft toys at each of last year’s games. In 2023, we will have given out over 400,000." The company itself has contributed significantly, having filled 150,000 of these prizes since 2020.
At the close of the fair, scheduled to run through October 27, a staggering amount of prizes will have been distributed. There will be an estimated 100 53-foot trailers filled with plush toys, ensuring that attendees have ample opportunities to win during their visit. This impressive amount of goods is a testament to the scale and popularity of the Arizona State Fair, which blends traditional fair excitement with the thrill of victory, and, the joy of taking home a cherished memento.
