Heads up, Arlington residents and commuters: your travel plans might need adjusting over the next week or so. According to the City of Arlington press release, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has announced lane reductions on Northbound US 287 at Sublett Road—effective nightly through September 21. It's part of the larger, $2.1 billion Southeast Connector Project aiming to revamp and expand a crucial 11-mile stretch of I-20, I-820, and US 287 over the next few years.

This project will connect the eastern and southeastern parts of Tarrant County with the central areas, aiming to reduce traffic, improve safety, and make travel more efficient. While there might be some temporary disruptions, the long-term benefits are expected to be significant. In the meantime, speed limits along the route have been lowered to 55 mph.
