The Austin Police Department is calling on the community to help them find a woman linked to a recent credit card fraud incident. On June 10, a white or Hispanic female in her early to mid-30s reportedly withdrew several hundred dollars from an ATM at the Bank of America located at 2511 W Parmer Lane using a stolen credit card.
A report by APD also stated that the suspect used the same credit card to finance a manicure, and attempted but failed to buy a large quantity of goods at a CVS on 1801 W Parmer Lane. Described as heavy-set with brown or reddish hair, the woman was last seen dressed in a black shirt with a rain jacket over it, and maroon sweatpants, adorned with her newly-purchased colorful nails.
Concerned citizens who might have any relevant details are urged to come forward. Anonymous tips can be submitted to the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program via their website or by calling 512-472-8477. Information that leads to an arrest may fetch a reward of up to $1,000.
Authorities seem to be relying heavily on community engagement to close this case, and it is hoped that those living in or around the implicated locations will mobilize to assist in the capture of the suspect. The APD has circulated security camera imagery of the individual in question in the hopes that she will be recognized by members of the public.
