A domestic dispute in Battle Creek led to a stabbing and the subsequent arrest of a 21-year-old woman early yesterday morning. According to FOX 17, the incident took place in the 5200 block of Horizon Drive during the overnight hours. The Battle Creek Police Department found a 30-year-old man with a stab wound on the right side of his chest. He was treated and taken to a nearby hospital, where he is now in stable condition.
Officials informed WWMT that the suspect, who is the victim's girlfriend, fled the scene before police arrived. She was later located at another's residence and was arrested. Currently, she is lodged at the Calhoun County Jail. The Battle Creek Fire Department and LifeCare Ambulance provided immediate care for the victim upon police arrival.
Details from the investigation suggest that an argument between the pair escalated leading to the stabbing. WOODTV reports that the police found the man shortly before 1 a.m. and administered necessary treatment before hospital transport.
