A section of the singletrack mountain bike trails at Bertram Chain of Lakes is off-limits this weekend. The temporary closure is due to the upcoming Bertram Saddle Buster race on Sunday, a mud-kicking event sure to draw a crowd of the two-wheeled variety.
The racecourse is reportedly primed for action, with staff having dutifully marked and prepped for Saturday's pre-ride activities. In the meantime, riders looking to explore can still make a beeline for Huck Harbor and the East side of Long Lake — just up to the infamous "pinch point."
According to an announcement from Wright County officials, "Staff have already marked and prepared the racecourse for participants to pre-ride on Saturday." This suggests a level of commitment to both racers and casual park-goers alike. Officials also want to assure the public that "Available sections of the singletrack trails are Huck Harbor and the east side of Long Lake up to the pinch point."
