Today, a Boost Mobile store in East Liberty was the scene of a break-in. Pittsburgh Police were dispatched following a burglar alarm at the premises on the 6000 block of Broad Street. As the City of Pittsburgh's official Public Safety Blotter reported, the officers arrived to find the storefront window shattered.
According to police officials, the front window was damaged upon arrival, and a yet-to-be-determined amount of merchandise was stolen. The suspects, identified only as two actors, escaped on foot before law enforcement reached the scene. Efforts to contact the business owner were fruitless, as police could not get a key holder or owner in the incident's immediate aftermath.
The incident has prompted an ongoing investigation, where plainclothes detectives are stepping in to follow up on the burglary. No arrests have been made, and the details surrounding the break-in remain scant as the detectives uncover more. Police are seeking any information related to the break-in and have urged the public to come forward with any tips that may lead to the apprehension of the individuals responsible.
