Following a Shot Spotter activation and several 911 calls on Monday evening, law enforcement authorities arrested 53-year-old Tuan Trieu from Boston on multiple firearm charges. The incident, which took place in the Dorchester neighborhood, involved Trieu allegedly discharging a firearm multiple times towards a victim before fleeing the scene.

According to the Boston Police Department's official release, officers heading to 1707 Dorchester Avenue around 7:53 PM responded to the gun activation, and upon their arrival, were briefed on the suspect's appearance and the vehicle used to escape. Fleeing the area at a high speed, Trieu's vehicle was swiftly spotted by officers on Dorchester Avenue, following a hastened broadcast description.

The police managed to stop the vehicle, using their cruiser's emergency lights and sirens, and commanded Trieu to exit it. After being secured and taken into custody for booking at District C-11, a search along the route Trieu took to escape resulted in the recovery of a discarded 'Ghost Gun,' loaded with seventeen rounds in a twenty-four round capacity magazine, along with other ballistic evidence discovered on scene.

Charges laid against Trieu include Unlawful Possession of a Firearm 3rd Offense, Two Counts of Assault to Murder, Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building, among others. The suspect, who placed a dangerous firearm in his pants' back before attempting to flee, is also charged with Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, and Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. Trieu is scheduled for arraignment in the Dorchester District Court according to law enforcement officials.
