In an early morning bust in Mattapan, Boston officers responding to a noise complaint at 24 Rexford Road unearthed more than just disruptive festivity. The Boston Police Department detailed the incident on their official website, characterizing the party as a potential hazard with conditions suggesting peril to life. After multiple unheeded knocks at the padlocked bulkhead basement door, officers forced entry, discovering more than fifty individuals in a poorly ventilated, smoke alarm-blaring basement, complete with a stocked bar, hookahs, and the pervasive smell of gas among lit candles.
Officers, who previously frequented this location for disturbances, were met with a padlocked door that unjustly corralled the occupants inside. As the occupants were escorted out following the intervention of the Boston Fire Department, two individuals were halted for suspicious behavior. The Boston Police Department recounted that one male suspect attempted to slip by officers, raising suspicions due to his concealed waistband, while a second leapt from the porch, resisted, but was subsequently apprehended.
Fitzgerald Custodio-Pimentel, 31, and Jorge Vargas-Jimenez, 35, found themselves in handcuffs facing charges which included Disorderly Conduct, Trespassing, Resisting Arrest, and Interfering with a Police Officer. Vargas-Jimenez also received charges for Three Counts of Receiving Stolen Property. Both are slated for arraignment at Dorchester District Court.
During a protective sweep, officers stumbled upon three firearms scattered within the residence, underscoring the evening's perilous undertones. Descriptions provided by the police unveiled a Ruger LC9 with a tampered serial number, a Polymer 80, and a Sig Sauer P238—each accompanying a concerning bounty of ammunition.
