The Eliot School's Back-to-School Carnival in Boston's North End was abuzz with community spirit and a side of sweet relief from the summer heat, courtesy of the Boston Police Department's (BPD) brand-new Slush Cart. The latest initiative by the department's District A-1 was unveiled amidst the excitement of students returning for a new academic year.
The slush cart was introduced to build a friendly connection between the police and local youth. Commissioner Cox joined the event, interacting with children as they enjoyed flavored slushies from BPD's Community Service Officers. The familiar ice cream truck was also there, giving officers and cadets more chances to connect with kids and their parents.
