A serious collision involving three vehicles in Watson Township, Allegan County, sent two people to hospitals on Tuesday evening. According to WZZM13, the event occurred just after 5:45 p.m. when an SUV trying to pass a pickup truck was forced to abruptly cut back into its lane, resulting in a havoc-inducing collision.
The Allegan County Sheriff’s Department described how the eastbound SUV on 116th Avenue, engaged in a recklessly timed overtaking maneuver, struck the rear of the pickup, triggering it to spin out and overturn. Meanwhile, an oncoming SUV was also impacted in the crash. According to a report by WOODTV, the incident occurred near the intersection of 116th Avenue and 14th Street. The authorities have not named the individuals involved, pending family notification of the events that unfolded.
One of those injured was reportedly in serious condition following the accident. A critical consideration in this event is the consequence of miscalculating the spatial dimension necessary for safety in such maneuvers, with tragic results. The Sheriff's department has indicated that they are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading to the crash, and the section of 116th Avenue between 12th Street and 14th Street was shut down to facilitate their examination and cleanup, as recounted by WZZM13.
