The City of Buckeye has unveiled its latest round of financial support for local nonprofit organizations, with the Nonprofit Community Funding Program awarding $95,000 in grants for the Fiscal Year 2025. The Buckeye City Council, after thoroughly reviewing a total of 17 grant applications, has decided to fund 12 deserving applicants that deliver direct services to the residents of the Buckeye area.
The awarded grants, intended to aid organizations in various service capacities, range from emergency food assistance to crime prevention and healthcare provision. Among the recipients, All Faith Community Services received the highest grant amount of $30,000, which is earmarked for emergency food assistance to counter food insecurity. The police foundation and other community services will also benefit, with grants intended to positively impact multiple lives within Buckeye.
Details from the city's announcement indicate specific allocations, with the Buckeye Police Foundation set to receive $15,000 to help bolster crime prevention and provide support for victims of domestic violence. Renovations at Mirna’s Place will also be facilitated by a $13,000 grant. Other funded programs include the Southwest Lending Closet, which lends out home health equipment at no charge and has been granted $6,500. This round of funding reflects a clear commitment by city officials to address varied community needs through financial investment in local initiatives.
The announcement on the city's official website also outlines smaller grants, like $6,000 going to Sounds of Autism to aid in the purchase of uniforms and the development of curriculum, and $5,000 for Youth4Youth's school drug & alcohol prevention program. The Homeless Youth Connection, which works to engage with youth experiencing homelessness, will receive $3,000, emphasizing the city's intent to broadly support a range of services from youth programs to senior care.
Organizations looking to apply for the next fiscal year's grant can expect to participate in the application process beginning in July 2025, as published on Buckeye's official website. With a strong focus on enriching community life and bolstering local services, Buckeye's awards are anticipated to impart substantive benefits to the residents who rely on these non-profits.
