
Firefighters from the CAL FIRE Santa Clara Unit and multiple local departments responded to a commercial structure fire late yesterday on Monterey Road in Morgan Hill. According to CAL FIRE Santa Clara Unit's Facebook page, emergency personnel arrived at the 17600 block to find a blaze that required considerable resources.
Throughout the night, crews battled the fire, ensuring the flames were contained and did not spread to adjacent areas. An update shared by CAL FIRE Santa Clara Unit's Facebook page indicated that firefighters would "remain at scene to ensure all hazards are mitigated." Despite the ongoing efforts, Monterey Road was reported to be open to traffic, with authorities urging caution for those traveling through the area due to the presence of emergency workers. This morning, officials announced that the Napa fire had been fully contained. In a demonstration of collective strength, the Morgan Hill Police Department, San José Fire Department, Gilroy Fire Department, and South Santa Clara County Firefighters Association Volunteers contributed to successfully mitigating the incident. Each organization was acknowledged for ensuring fire stations were adequately manned during the emergency.
