The dining landscape of the East Valley is about to receive a fresh boost of wholesome eating options with the expansion of Trū Bowl Superfood Bar, a California-based chain known for its acai bowl creations. Already operating in Gilbert, Trū Bowl is now setting its sights on Mesa, with a new location set to open its doors at 2727 E. McKellips Road on Oct. 1, as ABC15 reported.
The growth of health-focused restaurants shows no sign of slowing down in the Valley, and Trū Bowl is rapidly to become a significant player in the mix. A second store is anticipated to greet customers before year's end at 1900 W. Germann Road in Chandler. This appetite for healthy options isn't isolated to Trū Bowl alone—just this week, Flower Child launched its seventh location in Phoenix, a clear indicator of the demand for eateries that cater to the health-conscious.
In a narrative that underscores local enterprise, David and Cyndi Schoenecker, the husband-and-wife duo behind the local Trū Bowl franchises, have been pivotal in growing the brand in Arizona. After handling their initial lease independently, they secured the services of CRE8 Advisors, a fledgling Valley-based commercial real estate brokerage, to facilitate their next moves. "I am grateful to be a part of Trū Bowl's growth into Arizona and build the relationship with them," Chad Shipley, a broker at CRE8, expressed in a statement acquired by the Business Journal.
Looking ahead, the Schoeneckers and Shipley are not content to rest on their laurels. They are swiftly working to secure another site for Trū Bowl Superfood Bar in Queen Creek by the end of 2024 and are scouting for prime locations in high-traffic shopping centers. The brand's quick-service model, which doesn’t require a vast space, has proven to be particularly successful positioned near gyms, yoga studios, and other health-centric retail spaces.
