The Casa Grande Animal Care and Adoption Center has announced an initiative to waive adoption fees for dogs until October 5, in a move to alleviate crowded conditions at their facility. The center, in partnership with Best Friends Animal Society, is offering this fee-waived adoption period from September 23rd in hopes of reducing the shelter’s current overcapacity, particularly of large dogs. According to a recent bulletin from the City of Casa Grande, the shelter’s aim is also to prevent the euthanasia of dogs that can make loyal companions for adoptive families.
“We have a variety of wonderful dogs, from different breeds to personalities, ready to find their forever homes,” Cerise Shanafelt, Animal Control Supervisor, remarked in the city's announcement. Casa Grande residents looking to expand their family with a pet are urged to take advantage of this limited-time opportunity. The adoption not only opens the door to a new home for the dog but also makes room for another dog that is in need of shelter care and affection.
The facility responsible for this initiative is located at 202 E First Avenue, Casa Grande, AZ, and is open for potential adopters to visit on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Interested individuals are encouraged to come during these hours to meet and potentially adopt a new canine friend.
For further details about the dogs available for adoption and to learn more about the adoption process, individuals can visit the Animal Care and Adoption site. Information about Best Friends Animal Society and their mission to end the euthanasia of dogs and cats in shelters by 2025 is also available for those interested in the broader effort to provide animals with stable and loving homes.
