The City of Chandler's Golden Neighbors program is back in session this fall, offering local seniors a variety of community-building and health-promoting activities, starting with a free gardening workshop scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 19, from 9:30-11 a.m. at Sunset Library, located at 4920 W. Ray Road.

During the workshop, participants can expect to receive practical gardening tips and seeds at no cost; further, they'll explore the many health benefits associated with gardening such as its ability to combat anxiety, stress, and depression while also providing physical exercise, exposure to fresh air, and bolstering the immune system, and attendees will have the chance to engage in a painting activity led by local artist Reena Patel, they can take home a complimentary gift too.

Chandler residents interested in joining the Golden Neighbors fall activities are encouraged to RSVP through the program's website or by contacting Neighborhood Programs staff at 480-782-4362. This initiative is part of a broader effort to engage seniors within the community by connecting them with resources and services available through the city and its partners.

For additional details about the program or to support it through a donation, the public can visit Golden Neighbors.
