The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Jose Rios of the 300 block of W. Wildflower Way in Bolingbrook, Illinois, faces one felony count of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm, according to official police reports.
Members of the Area One Vehicular Hijacking Task Force arrested Rios on September 19, 2024, on the 3100 block of W. Flournoy. He was identified as one of the offenders in the March 13, vehicular hijacking of a 28-year-old male, in the 3200 block of W. 59th St. The Chicago Police Department stated that "the offender was placed into custody and charged accordingly." Rios is scheduled for a detention hearing today at the courthouse located at 2600 S. California.
