In the early morning hours of last Saturday, a bicyclist was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of 39th Street and Cicero Avenue. The Chicago Police Department reports that the incident occurred at approximately 03:11 A.M., and the responsible vehicle continued to flee the scene heading southbound on Cicero Avenue. An Illinois license plate, #EQ47678, was left behind, which investigators have since been using to track the offending vehicle.

The search for the driver became more urgent as the bicyclist suffered serious injuries due to the collision. The vehicle in question, identified as a brown 2017 Chevrolet with visible front-end damage, was last seen on traffic cameras near the intersection of EB I-55 & Kedzie Avenue, shortly after the incident. As stated by the Chicago Police Department, the legal obligations to render aid or exchange information after an accident were violated by the driver.

Law enforcement is actively seeking any information regarding the brown Chevrolet and requests that anyone with information should come forward to aid in their investigation.

Anyone with details about the hit-and-run or the whereabouts of the suspect vehicle can contact the Chicago Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Unit.
