The City of Cibolo has announced the acquisition of the Noble Group Event Center, picking up the venue and adjacent spaces for a neat $2 million. Located at 203 S. Main Street, the event center sits snug between key municipal sites, with the Police Station and City Hall to the east, and Fire Station #1, and the City Hall Annex to the west. The purchase aims to bolster the city's infrastructure and enhance its service offerings to residents.
In a move that continues the city's growth narrative, Cibolo officials have shared their intentions of reshaping the newly acquired space to fit within its civic vision. "The City of Cibolo is extremely grateful to Dr. Donovan Jackson and his family for coming to the city first and foremost to offer the opportunity to acquire the Noble Group Event Center," Mayor Mark Allen exulted, as detailed in a news release by the City of Cibolo. The city has also reached an understanding to lease the property back to the seller until February 2025, allowing current events to proceed without interruption.
Envisioned as a measure to enhance the city's service capabilities, this strategic acquisition follows through on the city's commitment to accommodating the needs of its citizens amid continuous expansion. City Manager Wayne Reed told the City of Cibolo, "This acquisition represents an important step in our commitment to enhancing the services we provide to our residents," underscoring the administration's forward-thinking approach.
Attention is now turning to the nuts and bolts of integrating the venue into the Cibolo fold. City staff are slated to collaborate with the City Engineer’s Office to subdivide the property and stamp out a new plat – which includes two additional buildings, that were not part of the initial purchase. Details on the future utilization of the space are anticipated to be made public via the City's website and social media come spring 2025.
