A man in Colorado Springs has surrendered to police, confessing to the killing of his wife. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office reported receiving a call early Sunday from the man, though the call ended abruptly. However, authorities managed to trace the call and subsequently located an address on Horsetail Terrace connected to it, according to KKTV.
Shortly after the call identified by Stephen Chan as being listed at 13870 Horsetail Terrace, the Colorado Springs Police Department was requested to perform a welfare check at the address. But before officers could arrive, Chan had already turned himself in at the Falcon substation, The Gazette reported.
Following the admission and the welfare check, deputies were alerted to a body discarded along Walsen Road, where they discovered the body of a woman. The victim's name remains undisclosed, pending confirmation of identity by the El Paso County Coroner's Office and notification of the family, as noted by Denver7.
Investigative efforts continue into this case while the official identification of the victim, who was found dead after being notified by the family, awaits release by the El Paso County Coroner's Office. Despite the confession of the suspect, the details surrounding the incident remain under investigation by officials, as the Sheriff's Office has confirmed.
